A January 6 defendant was released from pre-trial custody Tuesday after writing a letter in which he said he loathed former President Trump. The judge also banned him from watching talk shows, either on Fox News or MSNBC, or anything that could “inflame his thoughts.”
Thomas Sibick wrote a letter to Judge Jackson saying he now "loathes" Donald Trump and that Trump should be "ostracized" from society. You can read it here: https://t.co/RC5q7BZ1M6

The letter is really something; Thomas Sibick wrote:
January 6th was a disgrace to our nation that left a scar Trump is ultimately responsible for, but we are strong and will heal from it. While many praise Trump I loathe him, his words and actions are nefarious causing pain and harm to the world. He is not a leader and should be ostracized from any political future, what he honestly needs to do is go away.
That’s quite a change of heart for someone accused of robbing Office Mike Fanone of his badge and radio.
Brennwald suggests a release condition could be that Thomas Sibick not be allowed "to watch TV or anything that could inflame his thoughts."

"I'm not going to order that he not watch Fox News. I'm going to order that you turn off the talk shows, period. No MSNBC either," Judge Jackson says. "I'm trying to make sure it's a calm environment. And I'm looking to you to make sure of that."

Judge Jackson releases Thomas Sibick to the custody of his parents. He will be under 24-hour home incarceration, must stay away from D.C. and any political rallies and must continue his psychiatric treatment. No firearms. Can't watch any political TV programming. No social media.

He should have been made to throw darts at a picture of Trump's face before he was released, to prove he really meant it. Maybe Judge Berman Jackson will consider that for the next defendant seeking to be released from this harsh prison despite having been convicted of no crime.
