Rep. Jim Banks put in Twitter jail for calling Admiral Rachel Levine a man in a tweet

As Twitchy reported last week, congratulations were in order for Rachel Levine, who was sworn in as the “first openly transgender, female four-star admiral” in the U.S. Public Health Service. So it was a double honor: Levine was the first transgender four-star admiral and also the first female four-star general, smashing that glass ceiling once and for all.

We’re being told that Rep. Jim Banks was put in Twitter jail over a tweet in which he called Levine a man, saying he violated the platform’s rules against hateful conduct.

Some were just pointing out the irony of a biological male being named the first female four-star officer.

No.

Word is that Banks has deleted the tweet and is free to tweet again.

It is Twitter’s platform and they can enforce their terms of service however they want — we just don’t know how Banks was promoting violence against Levine, or threatening or harassing her. It’s actually a bit of an insult to Levine to think she needs this level of protection from Twitter.
