Fox News host, debate moderator Chris Wallace calls Jen Psaki 'one of the best press secretaries ever'

Here’s news from our parent site, Townhall. On Fox News Friday, host Chris Wallace, who famously moderated the first debate between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden, weighed in on an exchange between Fox’s Peter Doocy and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, calling Psaki “one of the best press secretaries ever.”

Landon Mion reports:

After Biden said during Thursday night’s CNN town hall that he had previously visited the southern border, Doocey pressed Psaki during a press briefing Friday on the validity of such statements.

“There’s been reporting that he did drive through the border when he was on the campaign trail in 2008,” Psaki replied.

Wallace, a registered Democrat, then offered high praise to the press secretary for her response during an appearance on Fox News’ “America Reports.”

“Honestly, as somebody who’s spent six years in the White House, my immediate reaction was, ‘Those are two people at the top of their game.’ … I think that [Doocy] has become the Sam Donaldson of this White House press corps … and Jen Psaki, I think, is one of the best press secretaries ever,” Wallace said Friday.

Her response, “There’s been reporting that he did drive through the border when he was on the campaign trail in 2008,” makes her great at her job? We guess it depends on what you think the press secretary’s job is; when it comes to cleaning up Biden’s gaffes, we’d say she’s so-so.

On Jan. 20, Wallace said he’d just witnessed “the best inaugural address I have ever heard.”

It’s a fair point:

If it weren’t for Doocy and the undeniability of Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan bug-out, she wouldn’t even have to do that. Without Doocy she’d just be having the Easter bunny bring in cookies for the press corps.
