Arizona state senator tells progressive school boards to take a stand against the radical right wing

As Twitchy reported, earlier this month, the National School Boards Association asked the Biden administration to get the federal government involved, citing threats against teachers, administrators, and school board members, saying that some parents could be guilty of domestic terrorism and asking that things like the PATRIOT Act be used to stop them. The administration listened, and within days, Attorney General Merrick Garland sent a memo to the FBI directing it to coordinate with local law enforcement.

AFT president Randi Weingarten claimed in a tweet that right-wing politicians who criticized the memo were defending violence against teachers and school board members, and Judd Legum has said that parents’ “sudden interest in school boards” is just an astroturf effort “orchestrated by seasoned right-wing political operatives.”

Corey A. DeAngelis of School Choice Now recently posted a list of state school boards that have distanced themselves from the NSBA since its “domestic terrorism” letter:

Martín Quezada, an Arizona state senator and school board member, sent out a rallying cry to progressive school board members, telling them to stand strong against the radical right wing, which ain’t hesitating to do the opposite of protecting educators. Note that he addresses only progressive school board members.

If politicians paid attention, they’d know it’s not just “radical right-wing” parents who have taken an interest in what schools are adding into their curricula.
