Editor of Baltimore Magazine won't let your badmouth her city and then 'just slink away quietly'

We’ve written a fair amount about Baltimore, and none of it’s been good. Back in 2015, Baltimore’s mayor said, “We provided spaces for protesters to destroy if they chose to do that” during the Freddie Gray riots. The mayor after that resigned after her children’s book scandal which included a raid on her home by FBI and IRS agents.

And then there was that shocking story from Baltimore Fox affiliate WBBF, which profiled a high school senior who had passed just three classes in four years of school and had a 0.13 grade point average — which put him 62nd in his class of 120 students.

Max Weiss, editor-in-chief of Baltimore Magazine, isn’t about to let anyone badmouth the city and just “slink away quietly,” though.

WJZ reports:

The number of homicides in Baltimore continues to outpace even last year’s record-breaking rate, numbers released by the city’s police department Wednesday show.

As of Wednesday morning, there have been 134 homicides in the city in 2020, six more than at the same time in 2019.

The way we see it, we’re giving Weiss the attention she asked for.

There’s still time to vote in the poll:
