Disney documents encourage employees to complete a 'white privilege checklist,' work through feelings of guilt and shame

You might have read earlier this week that Coca-Cola has paused its diversity initiatives due to a shake-up at the company. Among those initiatives was a course, publically available on LinkedIn, encouraging employees to “try to be less white.” Now, a week after Disney was criticized for its revamped ride in which the prince kisses Snow White without her consent, Christopher Rufo has some documents from a Walt Disney Corporation training session that encourages employees to complete a “white privilege checklist.”

This is pretty rich coming from Disney, which took until 2009 to introduce a black princess, is revamping its Jungle Cruise ride because of its “colonialist” undertones, is reworking Splash Mountain, which is based on “Song of the South,” yanked “Dumbo,” “Peter Pan,” and “The Aristocats” from Disney+ over racial stereotypes, and shrank down black actor John Boyega for the Chinese versions of the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” movie posters.

At least the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture had the sense to take down its exhibit on “whiteness and white culture” that included indicators of institutionalized white supremacy such as perfectionism, individualism, and objectivity.

And these are only the training sessions we hear about through whistleblowers … imagine how much of this is going on in corporate America — and in the U.S. military and government.

Here’s Rufo on with Tucker Carlson:
