Megyn Kelly encourages parents to fight back against Dalton School's 'anti-racist' agenda

We’ve seen Megyn Kelly pop up quite a bit in our posts about anti-racism and critical race theory being embraced by schools, and now she’s reporting that parents at the pricey Dalton School, an independent K-12 day school located in Manhattan, are fighting back.

As Twitchy reported in December, teachers at the Dalton School were “holding the school for ransom” with a list of demands, including:

  • The hiring of 12 diversity officers
  • A full-time employee to support black students who come forward with complaints
  • Paying off the student debt of incoming black faculty
  • Requiring courses on black liberation
  • The signing of public “anti-racism” statements from all employees
  • Commitment to racial equity in leveled courses by 2023; “at that time, if membership and performance of Black students are not at parity with non-Black students, leveled courses should be abolished”

… and much, much more. “In the same way that subjects such as English, art, physical education, and mathematics have been embedded within the Dalton experience, so too should coursework that is explicitly anti-racist. No Dalton student should graduate without taking classes that center race, identity, difference, and social justice,” wrote the teachers. Not all parents are having it, though.

The letter reads, in part:

Every class this year has had an obsessive focus on race and identity, “racist cop” reenactments in science, “de-centering whiteness” in art class, learning about white supremacy and sexuality in health class. Wildly age-inappropriate, many of these classes feel more akin to a Zoom corporate sensitivity training than to Dalton’s intellectually engaging curriculum.

The new “anti-racist” obsession with race is incredibly exclusionary and hurtful to many of the children and their families, and many are considering leaving. Why would anyone voluntarily send their children to be taught that they are guilty regardless of their decency and kindness? A school where they are constantly reminded of the color of their skin, not the content of their character. What Black parent wants the other children to feel sorry for their kid and look at them differently? We have spoken with dozens of families, of all colors and backgrounds, who are in shock and looking for an alternative school for their children.
