Adviser to Sen. Ted Cruz reminds us when Hillary Clinton and others had 'lots of questions' about the 2016 election's legitimacy

Democrats and the press have gone from accusing Sen. Josh Hawley of sedition and treason to accusing Sen. Ted Cruz of sedition and treason, now that he’s leading the objection to the Electoral College results next week. As we and a lot of others have pointed out, what Cruz is doing isn’t new or groundbreaking; Democrats objected to the certification of the 2016 election. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee led a challenge to Donald Trump’s Electoral College win in 2017, claiming that voter suppression tactics may have tainted the outcome. “This is an American question of justice and fairness and the appropriate running of presidential elections.”

We guess we’re all supposed to pretend that never happened, but Omri Ceren, national security adviser to Cruz, has put together a thread showing how people are tweeting “as if they didn’t spend 4 years establishing New Rules about litigating elections.”

“Experts urge Clinton campaign to challenge election results in 3 swing states.” “There are lots of questions about its legitimacy,” said Clinton of the 2016 election, which she still considers stolen from her.

We’re going to add this one from October:

You can disagree with Cruz objecting to the election certification, but you have to acknowledge that he’s not breaking any new ground.
