The story on Rep. Eric Swalwell’s “defensive briefing” by the FBI hit the San Francisco Chronicle last week and was retweeted by Politico’s Carla Marinucci, but it’s receiving new life on Twitter Monday now that Richard Grenell has called the whole thing fake news.
“Swalwell was completely cooperative and under no suspicion of wrongdoing,” an FBI official familiar w the investigation said, adding “it was a defensive briefing'' to warn "that he may be targeted by a foreign government.” https://t.co/0cAWOquaoX

The poor guy would have just been a victim in all this had he not been tipped off by the FBI. And as MSNBC’s Chris Hayes observed, it’s not like he did anything wrong aside from kind of getting duped by a spy — no need for him to be so defensive.
We’re pretty sure we’ve seen the end of this story; the media managed to shuffle it off to the side until a new news cycle began. But Grenell is calling fake news.
This anonymous quote is pushing fake news. I believe it’s completely made up by the reporter, too.
No real intel official with real information could honestly say this.
But of course, the SF Chronicle and @cmarinucci happily push it because it looks to help a Democrat. https://t.co/B8Khf9N8wu

By “completely cooperative,” they mean @RepSwalwell agreed to stop sleeping with the Chinese communist spy. The “defensive briefing” was, “hey dummy, you’re sleeping with a Chinese communist spy.” https://t.co/zioatwkaXY

“I believe” is doing all of the work. And none of the lifting.

[Swalwell's] office pointed Fox News to a statement from an unnamed FBI official to The San Francisco Chronicle.
Whenever one sees "unnamed" roll up your pants legs, it's too late to save your shoes…..

You don't get briefed by the FBI unless there's a MAJOR problem.
— Gus Skarlis (@GusSkarlis) December 14, 2020
It's garbage, we all know it. Swalwell is compromised as is half of America's governors. Lets start arresting traitors.

Another FBI counterintelligence failure. Tipped off Fang Fang and she fled the country. Could have been doubled. Or at least interrogated about her network.

Well that settles it, nothing to see here folks.
— You Can't Stop Cue (@YouCantStopCue1) December 14, 2020
Swalwell is exactly the weak minded person that China would target. He had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy and should not be in Congress, much less on any committee.

Another corrupt Democrat under the protection of the corrupt media…

Oh are we still pretending he didn’t know he was sleeping with a spy? #1 we all know this women would not “choose” that guy. #2 it’s the plot for every spy movie ever written. Like every single one!

Another MSM cover attempt blown…

I don't understand the Dems trying to defend this guy. He's a little boy who never grew up and has fantasies of becoming President. He lied for years about Russian collusion and is a liability for the Dems. What gives?

isn't it funny how anonymous quotes perfectly fit a narrative that is trying to be pushed?
— Mantis Toboggan (@coffeethc) December 14, 2020
LMAO at this ridiculous, POS post. Everyone on this planet KNOWS Swalwell was used by his little Fang Fang. And that others were used by Fang Fang.
— Allen Pegg (@AllenPegg) December 15, 2020
@RepSwalwell struck a deal. I’ll cut off communication only if my dad and brother still could be FB friends with her! Deal?

I guarantee he had to be told at least 10 times what was going on. He’s Ron Burgandy without the mustache

Perhaps you should alert @Jack that this tweet is total bullshit and needs to be hit with the warning that this is in dispute. Just look for any tweet from @POTUS where he is calling out fraud on the election, cut and paste the twitter warning attached to any of these.

I'm old enough to remember when the media lost their shit because a Chinese woman trespassed at Mar-a-Lago…..

Remember old TV guides w/ show categories. We need an Intel guide, categories being:
• Government spin
• Partial truth
• Outright propaganda
• Deep state disinformation
• Valid leak
• Genuine whistleblower
• Wrap up smear
• Political marketing
• Distraction
• Real facts— Kraken-Elect LibFemExDem Trump WON ??❤️ (@TielleTeaKAG) December 14, 2020
We didn’t watch, but we don’t doubt it:
The story about @ericswalwell, member of the House Intelligence Committee, sleeping with a Chinese spy doesn't seem to have been discussed on the Sunday shows.

One more bonus tweet from Grenell:
We have a vaccine.
Open up the economy NOW.
