We’d used some tweets by New York Times correspondent Mike Baker earlier Saturday in a piece about the “Wall of Vets” in Portland, but now he’s moved to Seattle to report on some demonstrations there in solidarity with the protesters/rioters in Portland. Things kick off with some arson. It looks like they couldn’t wait until dark to start with the violence.
I have shifted up to Seattle today to follow a large demonstration that's in solidarity with Portland.
I'd estimate a crowd of 2,000 already. They just torched construction buildings at the site of a new youth detention center.

It’s not a peaceful protest in Seattle. The crowd are the aggressors. They set fire to a Starbucks right before this. pic.twitter.com/JVIiCxCPut

Activists throw items at cops, taunt, get pushed back, then repeat. It’s almost assuredly going to get violent tonight. pic.twitter.com/mFe4wuWhGF

They’re doing this in memory of George Floyd, right?
These workers at a bar/restaurant say some in the crowd attacked and punched them after accusing one of them of taking images of the crowd. pic.twitter.com/ETQ4m9VYyr

We need more reporting like this. For too long we’ve only heard from activists and bickering politicians. What about people stuck in the middle of this coup? What about the regular people who are being assaulted? Having their businesses and places of employment burned down?

Peaceful #seattleprotests, my foot.

The exodus out of big cities is going to be big. Riots, looting, no police. Yeah. Good times for those left behind in the cities.

It's a freaking dog fight for homes here in Florida. I can only imagine what the suburbs are like near these cities.

@MayorJenny Crimes like these against taxpaying voting citizens lay at the feet of you and your city council.
— Marius Lonan (@LonanMarius) July 26, 2020
@MayorJenny You absolutely suck. Listen to an actual tax payer and the stress you're causing. Get control of your city.

So democrats what do you think of this? More arson. Attacking people for free speech.

When can we just admit these “protesters” are unbalanced individuals who only needed an excuse to act like animals?
