It was earlier this week when Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did a live stream in which she complained that “people are literally not patroning Chinese restaurants … because of just straight-up racism around the coronavirus.” Chinese restaurants in her district were hurting because people like President Trump were calling COVID-19 the Wuhan virus, spreading xenophobia among the American people.
She was joined by fellow Squad member Rep. Ayanna Pressley, who also blamed racism and xenophobia for a drop in business at Chinese restaurants as well as Republicans for fanning the flames and making everyone paranoid.
Now, however, Ocasio-Cortez is encouraging everyone to stop crowding restaurants and eat their meals at home.
To everyone in NYC but ESPECIALLY healthy people & people under 40 (bc from what I’m observing that’s who needs to hear this again):
PLEASE stop crowding bars, restaurants, and public spaces right now. Eat your meals at home.
If you are healthy, you could be spreading COVID.

Does that include Chinese restaurants?

— prime time Rodriguez (@piratepenisarrr) March 14, 2020
That’s “straight up racism”. They should all be out eating at Chinese restaurants.

Weren't you just telling people to go to Chinese restaurants?
Does this new directive apply to Chinese owned establishments or are they exempt?

— SECRET SQUIRREL (@SecritSqrl) March 14, 2020
What about Chinese restaurants? Should I keep going to those to not appear “racist” to you?
— Adam Trahan (@AdamTrahan) March 14, 2020
Wasn't she just whining about how people weren't "patroning" Asian restaurants? like two days ago?
— Cruadin (@cruadin) March 14, 2020

Confusion is the AOC way.

Totally confused.

Nothing pisses me off more than healthy people going around spreading sickness…
— GRayCT2FL (@GRayCT2FL) March 14, 2020
Her endless stream of illogic would have Spock banging his head on a bulkhead for hours.
— R. Lucas ? (@rlucasvideo) March 14, 2020
It really is a shame: Every time she makes a good point it’s canceled out almost immediately by something stupid or vice versa.
