We still can’t quite get over the hearing the House Intelligence Committee held back in 2017 on Russian interference in the 2016 election via social media. It’s almost always funny when a member of Congress sets up an easel because it’s almost always guaranteed to be something stupid, like one of President Trump’s tweets enlarged to poster board size.
The examples of what the Russians had reportedly purchased and promoted on Facebook were pretty funny, though. There was a Photoshop of Hillary Clinton getting ready to box Jesus, and a coloring book page of Bernie Sanders in a Speedo doing a muscle pose in front of the White House.

The Russians reportedly spent perhaps hundreds of thousands of dollars on social media ads and promoted posts, and Mollie Hemingway wondered on Fox News Wednesday night how those could influence a presidential election when Michael Bloomberg’s blanketing of the airwaves only managed to win him American Samoa.
Spot on, @MZHemingway:
“We had years where people were saying a couple hundred thousand dollars in barely literate Facebook ads from Russians caused Donald Trump to win. Here you had a guy spend nearly a billion dollars and he went nowhere.”

It’s like… the American people actually wanted Trump to be president over Hillary

Bloomberg could have saved millions if he just worked with the Russians!

This is indeed a great argument against all hoaxes. The people are intelligent and they make their own choices and no ads and no millions of dollars will sway them. So what was this Russia Hoax about?

But Russia Russia Russia!

This point cannot be made often enough. It lays bare the absurdity of the Russia nonsense.

Yeah well those Facebook ads didn’t accomplish ? & neither will Bloomberg’s money.
Russians didn’t have any influence on the 2016 election no serious person with an IQ above 85 thinks they did.— William F. Nationalist (@billbarnett65) March 5, 2020
$200k couldn't make a radar blip in a gubernatorial race, much less the Oval.
Consider these candidates:
Joe Sestak: $167k
Mark Sandford: $128k
Wayne Messam: $127k
Mike Gravel: $93kWho?
Seth Molton spent $2 million (10x) & I doubt 1 in 1000 Americans even know his name.

Anyone with a functioning brain knew that Russia collusion was just a way to try to delegitimize the election.
