We’ll admit, we lost a lot of respect for #MeToo journalist Ronan Farrow after he decided to take a shot at taking Brett Kavanaugh out of the running for the Supreme Court and then watched as his big “scoop” about Kavanaugh exposing himself at a college frat party fell apart even worse than the other allegations against the current Supreme Court Justice.
But Farrow’s still in the investigative journalism game, and he’s got the receipts this time about MIT’s Media Lab taking millions from Jeffrey Epstein after he was convicted as a sex offender and disqualified from donating.
How an elite university research center concealed its relationship with a sex offender—documents show MIT Media Lab accepted donations directed by Jeffrey Epstein far in excess of what the university has admitted to, and worked to cover it up: https://t.co/KTdYdCbZ6u

After Epstein was a convicted sex offender, listed as "disqualified" from donating in MIT's database, MIT Media Lab worked closely with Epstein, secretly taking donations from him or labeled as having been secured at his direction, from his contacts, including Bill Gates. pic.twitter.com/o96hQYTku7

While MIT has maintained that it only accepted $800,000 from Epstein, documents and sources show that he was credited with direct involvement in at least $7.5 million of donations, and gave input about how to use the funds. pic.twitter.com/4QLyC7s8BS

“Epstein was credited with securing at least $7.5 million in donations for the lab, including two million dollars from [Bill] Gates.”
Internal emails and sources show lab leadership actively directed staff to conceal Epstein's role in the contributions. Epstein was listed only by his initials on the lab director's calendar. Staff took to calling Epstein "Voldemort" or "he who must not be named." pic.twitter.com/1IhTGtvuGa

“Jeffrey money, needs to be anonymous. Thanks.”
Epstein reportedly dropped by in secret one day, flanked by two young women: “They were models. Eastern European, definitely,” a named source told Farrow.
Epstein was secretly invited to meet with faculty and leadership. He was accompanied by two young women, and lab staff feared for their safety. Staff were told to avoid naming Epstein in emails about the meeting and to prevent a professor who objected from spotting Epstein. pic.twitter.com/FvffItf2sD

Whistleblowers said they feared the lab helped Epstein shield himself with his relationships with prestigious institutions—and that they believed a cover-up was ongoing. pic.twitter.com/4Mi4FZoc01

You don’t put stuff like this in writing unless you’re really used to getting away with shit like this pic.twitter.com/ZKK5ZiF264

I do a lot of FOIA work and it’s clear that even low-level officials know not to memorialize anything incriminating in writing

Go through a sufficient number of discovery processes in litigation, and it becomes less surprising to see things like this.

I legit don’t know what’s real anymore

We still can’t get over the idea of some “Three Stooges” scenario when the MIT folks are trying to move Epstein around the campus without a suspicious professor spotting him … and his entourage of young Eastern European models.
