As Twitchy reported, Planned Parenthood was sad to report the other day that the Trump administration had forced the abortion provider out of the Title X program. Well, that wasn’t exactly true; Planned Parenthood could have kept the Title X tax dollars if it agreed to stop aborting babies and focus on family planning instead, and we all know that wasn’t going to happen.
Salon decided to spin the news this way, which is some incredible spin:
The reason Republicans keep trying to take birth control away from women is simple: They think birth control is bad and you shouldn't be able to get it.https://t.co/JnYL9n6j54
— Salon (@Salon) August 20, 2019
It’s just that simple; Republicans think birth control is bad — so bad that it should be available over the counter.
Who wants to tell these J-school flunkies which party has been trying to make birth control over the counter?
— Fed Dept of No Sh*t (@NoShitDept) August 20, 2019
Juuuuust going to leave this right here when the Dems opposed birth control over the counter with the support of Planned Parenthood but "muh healthcare"
— Loren (@LorenSethC) August 20, 2019
So why did the GOP want to make it an over the counter purchase? That was blocked by the Dems?
— Txmustangmary (@MaryClarke19) August 21, 2019
Are you high? Repubs wanted to make BC pills available OTC. Dems shut them down.
— Jules of Denial (@Coolish_Breeze) August 21, 2019
Bullshit. Republicans tried to make BC OTC and Democrats nixed it.
— spongeworthy (@spongeworthy2) August 20, 2019
uh…. except it's democrats who've been blocking republican attempts to make BC available OTC. but yeah, go off on that strawman…..
— ⭐️⭐️ filthy fredo ⭐️⭐️ (@jflysocal) August 20, 2019
Republicans are the party that has consistently tried to make over-the-counter birth control legal. Democrats have consistently opposed such a law.
— Baseball Guy from Cali (@baseball_cali) August 20, 2019
They tried to make it OTC. Care to guess who blocked it? Hint: their name rhymes with Schand Scherenthood.
— Taro Tsujimoto (@RCannon74) August 20, 2019
A little research would inform you that the Republican Party has been attempting to make birth control accessible over the counter for years. Too bad you’re not interested in truth.
— SuzSnarknado ⚓️ (@ZannSuz) August 20, 2019
The GOP proposed a bill to make birth control pills available OTC, but the Democrats voted it down.
But don’t let facts get in the way of your agenda.
— Paul (@pjb438) August 21, 2019
You obviously missed the story about Republicans introducing a bill to fast track making birth control over-the-counter. You people are comple idiots. pic.twitter.com/AcU3BOrtrt
— Victory or Death (@IncognitoMeems) August 21, 2019
What the hell is wrong with you people? The media just lies!! Republicans wanted to make birth control prescription free and cheap to buy for women.
What's the problem here?
Our argument is we don't want to pay for others to get it.
— ᔕT〇ᖇMiN (@StorMin__NorMin) August 21, 2019
Why are you so desperate to keep birth control pills something you need a prescription for rather than advocating they be over the counter
— Dino? (@dinok1975) August 21, 2019
You mean “free” birth control. Republicans want birth control OTC. We just don’t want to pay for yours
— Conservative (@BrownDeerRepub) August 21, 2019
This is a verifiable lie. Democrats have blocked multiple Republican attempts to make birth control available without prescription.
Democrats don’t want you to have easily accessible birth control because it’s bad for the abortion business.

What a weird and fact-free world the staff at Salon lives in.
You should hire some grownups to run your social media and news room. The kids are running it now are morons.
Their parents would probably agree.

Ok. You have now officially taken over as THE BEST parody site, EVER!!!

as a conservative and someone who has spent their lives around other conservatives 0 would be the # of times I've heard any conservative express the desire to "take away" someones BC
— chad counts (@crcounts) August 20, 2019
I came here to say exactly this.
— Stacey? (@staceymitchelll) August 20, 2019
I think I can speak for all Republicans on this:
Every single one of us hopes you and everyone who thinks like you uses the hell out of birth control.
Please. Don't reproduce.
