Hey, we’re just days away from celebrating Independence Day, so how about a post on Nike deciding to yank a sneaker with an American flag on it so as not to offend Colin Kaepernick and crew?
Nike is yanking a sneaker featuring the "Betsy Ross flag" after Colin Kaepernick said he and others consider the symbol to be offensive https://t.co/eKVtPM6oTA

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Nike is dropping the shoe, which features the “Betsy Ross flag”:
Nike Inc. is yanking a U.S.A.-themed sneaker featuring an early American flag after former NFL star-turned-activist Colin Kaepernick told the company it shouldn’t sell a shoe with a symbol that he and others consider offensive, according to people familiar with the matter.
The sneaker giant created the Air Max 1 USA in celebration of the July Fourth holiday, and it was slated to go on sale this week.
We’re not sure what sort of deal Kaepernick has with Nike, but they did run that ad with his last fall about “sacrificing everything.”

When we think of a football player sacrificing everything, we tend to picture Pat Tillman, but that’s probably just because we’re racist. Now Nike gets to sacrifice a whole lot of shoes that were supposed to go on sale so they can stay woke.
This was the shoe Kaepernick said was offensive and @Nike agreed. https://t.co/6pCJMMeTsf

Kaepernick would make a great soccer player.

If this is true (anonymous sourcing)… WTF, #Nike?
Does your marketing department have research data saying the target demo is all in on America bashing? If not, this makes no sense. I can’t imagine they need sign-off that badly from a paid endorser. #Kaepernick

I consider myself to be left of center. This is flat out insane. Nike is going to take orders from someone who didn’t even vote in the last POTUS election?

So @Nike now listens to a ex football player who really never did anything in the @NFL but stir up drama and make noise-something he wasn’t hired to do. Mmmcay. ..
