Remember how for two years we were assured that Robert Mueller was a staunch, unbiased, incorruptible investigator who put country over party? Well, that’s what The Resistance kept telling us, at least until Mueller released his report finding no collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.
Now that Attorney General William Barr has tapped federal prosecutor John Durham to assist with the investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion hoax, CNN is engaging in some concern trolling: is Durham jeopardizing his reputation as “apolitical” by agreeing to assist Barr?
A federal prosecutor's "apolitical" reputation is on the line as he helps Attorney General Barr review the origins of the Russia investigation https://t.co/UHeTjwwN5S pic.twitter.com/W8B2a56NhV

Oh no, maybe he should reconsider.
What a garbage headline

SCARE QUOTES.
— Laurel Van Driest (@lvandriest) May 15, 2019
This headline is beyond parody. Loaded. An ideal exemplar for a journalism course re: what not to do.
— MJD1077 (@MJD1077) May 15, 2019
Kind of a loaded headline. What's the presumption here about what outcome will endanger his reputation? https://t.co/UoqGHFMzMo
— Mark Hemingway (@Heminator) May 15, 2019
Not "kind of". A loaded, trigger-set headline AP/Reuters would be proud of. They've already got their slant ready to go.
— Uncle Willie (@UncleWillie631) May 15, 2019
CNN, loaded headline, ubiquitous
— Schrödinger's Cathouse (@KneezInBreeze) May 15, 2019
Weird. Mueller's "apolitical" reputation wasn't reported as being on the line after Rosenstein appointed him to look into Dem allegations about the 2016 election. https://t.co/tA2Cl5iDe5

CNN showed no concern with the band of Democrats teamed up with Mueller.

On the line? Why?
— Roman Craig (@LJ4477) May 15, 2019
What determines putting his reputation on the line? Finding skulduggery in the whole corrupt mess?
— Guerrilla Magoo ?? (@Guerrilla_Magoo) May 15, 2019
“If he doesn’t deliver the result we desire, we’ll call him a political hack” -same people slandering Barr right now

Liberal dog whistle to the activists.
— Paul Confer (@PaulConfer) May 15, 2019
this headline is basically a threat
— Dumb Trucker (@DumbTrucker3) May 15, 2019
@CNN issues a threat at the behest of their Democrat rulers.
— Resist the Resistance (@AnnGables3) May 15, 2019
A threat. His “DC elite establishment reputation” is on the line.
— CalvinCoolidge (@Krist_0_pher) May 15, 2019
Threatening a smear already.
— Howard Beal (@HowardBealisMad) May 15, 2019
Sounds like obstruction of justice to me ?
— Apocalypse (@HackandSlash77) May 15, 2019
Intimidating a federal prosecutor is a crime. What would cause a complicit media organization to try and hinder a government corruption investigation? Sorry, asked and answered. When we need the government to hold the powerful to account, the media has failed.
— StanleyForester (@StanleyForeste1) May 15, 2019
CNN is saying if he doesn’t protect democrats they are going to destroy his reputation.
— ?? David Lee MAGA ?? (@DavidLeeMAGA) May 15, 2019
If he finds anything his reputation will be destroyed by CNN and anyone else who will no doubt be implicated in the collusion between the intel community and the legacy media.
— media critic (mostly cnn) (@cnniscancer) May 15, 2019
will be "apolitical" if he does what you and dems want.
Will be partisan lackey for Barr if not.— Kaye Bearden (@kkbear) May 15, 2019
So his reputation is on the line why? If he finds evidence that Comey and his merry men were spying and colluding then that’s a bad reputation? If He finds that everything was warranted then that’s a good reputation? If it was legit can someone explain to me the “insurance policy”
— sjw (@sjwflying) May 15, 2019
Why? If he finds something you don't like you will trash him? I think that is what you mean right?
— Chuck (@cfiterman) May 15, 2019
Meaning, if he does anything CNN don't like his career is in THE toliet along with his reputation.

Even @CNN is freaking out about the shoes that are about to drop. They pushed this mess for 30 months.
— MarcusArulius (@AruliusMarcus) May 15, 2019
Isn't an apolitical prosecutor supposed to follow the investigation wherever it takes him?
This guy has already proven he is willing to expose ruling class dirt. That's what scares them.
— KnoxvegasMike (@mlittle101) May 15, 2019
His reputation is rock solid.
— Frenchy64 (@Frency641) May 15, 2019
I think the folks at CNN are scared s***less about new and coming developments. Just like their Democratic keepers in government.
— Dirk Deardorff (@dwdeardorff) May 15, 2019
Picking someone who specializes in going after the FBI and CIA just screams he is going after Comey, Clapper and Brennan.
— Mark M. (@mmontuori) May 15, 2019
That face is in Brennan's nightmares right now
— Nemo Publius (@NemoPublius) May 15, 2019
It’s thoughtful that CNN’s concerned for Durham’s reputation, but we’re confident he can handle it.
