The Sunrise Movement — the collective of climate alarmist kids who got an earful of reality when they tried to occupy Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s office — held an event Monday at which the architects of the Green New Deal tried to kick-start the resolution that received zero yes votes, even from its co-sponsors in the Senate, several of whom are running for president.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Sen. Ed Markey were on hand, with Markey asking for some of that Green New Deal socialism.
.@EdMarkey: If healthcare for all, clean air and water for all, and the biggest blue collar jobs program in a decade is socialism, then give me some of that socialism!” We are ready for a #GreenNewDeal! pic.twitter.com/IlmLnyuIZu

At least they’re admitting it’s socialism. They’ll be lucky to get any press coverage, but you won’t hear anything about the event in The Washington Examiner, whose energy reporter was denied press credentials.
I am not comfortable drawing attention to myself, and away from my work, but as @sunrisemvmt begins their D.C. rally with @AOC and @SenSanders, I thought it was important to say that Sunrise would not grant me a credential to attend the event because I work for the @dcexaminer.

(Cont'd): At a time when climate advocates are trying to unite the country, picking and choosing coverage seems wrong, especially when I am known for my fair, non-ideological reporting.

Heya @brianstelter, this is your beat right? https://t.co/PDyP42tpSi

An attack on the free press … aren’t all journalists supposed to denounce that sort of thing in unison?

Josh has interviewed me and my clean energy colleagues on countless politically sensitive topics, not the least of which the DOE coal bailout proposal. His reporting has been nothing but fair, honest, and unbiased. This was a bad decision. (cont.) https://t.co/4mcjwCCE0X

The organizers may have viewed this as eye for an eye. That's not fair to Josh, and as a strategy, it won't win hearts and minds on the defining issue of our lifetimes.

I've worked with Josh, I've edited Josh, I respect Josh. It's a joke that he'd be excluded from anything on his beat.

This is a bad look, @sunrisemvmt. @SiegelScribe is a stand-up reporter who covers climate and energy fairly and responsibly. https://t.co/UxeZuMMdih

Credibility for #GreenNewDeal just dropped alot imo. @SiegelScribe is an outstanding energy reporter and extremely balanced and fair. The "movement" becomes increasingly marginalized with these prejudices @saikatc https://t.co/3Z5fQhDsMY

Josh is one of the most fair and serious journalists I work with. Shame on @sunrisemvmt. https://t.co/xwJaAeUuoI

It isn't ok for politicians to bar journalists because they don't like the news outlets they work for. It's not ok when Trump does it and it's not ok when Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez do it either. https://t.co/YkTtx0WrPY

Look like art is going to be an important job-creator as part of the Green New Deal.
