Vice President Mike Pence goes hard on Venezuelan ambassador at UN; Ilhan Omar hardest hit

Even though 54 countries eventually joined the United States in calling for world governments to recognize Juan Guaidó as the only legitimate president of Venezuela, Rep. Ilhan Omar decided to stick with Russia, China, and Iran in backing dictator Nicolás Maduro against what she called President Trump’s “U.S. backed coup.”

The situation in Venezuela only got worse, and Sen. Chris Murphy warned of “a potential trap being set by Trump et al in Venezuela. Cheering humanitarian convoys sounds like the right thing to do, but what if it’s not about the aid? What if the real agenda is laying a pretext for war?”

Yes, it was a trap being set by Trump, with the backing of 53 other countries — even Canada and that warmonger Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of theirs. And Maduro literally burned supply trucks filled with food, so so much for the humanitarian aid.

Omar and Murphy probably won’t like it, but Vice President Mike Pence took Venezuela’s ambassador to the United Nations to the woodshed Wednesday.

But Trump!

At least somebody appreciates Vice President Pence, if not in his own country where he’s continually smeared as a bigot and homophobe. In the meantime, can we get some of the Democratic candidates to weigh in? Do they support the Trump administration here?
