We have a feeling that we could do a post on everything that Sean McElwee publishes, but we’re still astounded that anyone publishes Sean McElwee.
When Philip Klein explained in a Washington Examiner piece that implementing the Green New Deal would require a revolution — as in, a literal revolution toppling the existing structure of the U.S. government and abolishing the Senate — McElwee was there for it.
you say that like it’s a bad thing https://t.co/dEOfTrzHaa

So it’s interesting to see him argue in the New York Times that the Green New Deal isn’t as toxic as President Trumps says — although it was toxic enough that not one Democratic senator voted for it Tuesday.
.@SeanMcElwee: Is the Green New Deal really as toxic as President Trump and Mitch McConnell think it is? My research suggests that it’s not. https://t.co/OeXaGQnkCw

“Republicans may come to regret their mockery.” And speaking of mockery, here’s some well-placed mockery:

Look up "research" in a dictionary, and then have an adult explain to you what you find there. It doesn't mean what you think it does.

My research suggests that people have no clue what's in the #GreenNewDeal or understand the cost.

Then your research is probably skewed by your personal feelings on the matter. Because the GND is inarguably toxic.
— Moose7195 (@moose7195) March 27, 2019
Um, according to the article, you did polls where you asked people about all the good stuff the GND promised without any of the downsides (skyrocketing energy costs, higher taxes, reduced mobility) and you said this "research" proves people like it. 1/2

And *still* no Democrats in the Senate voted for it. Hmmm.

Democrats wouldn't even vote for it!

Not one co-sponsor of the legislation voted in favor of it.

A progressive operative whose job is to shape data insights to make things look bad or good, depending on the partisan polarity of the issue, says the Green New Deal is super-spiffy popular and Dems should plow forward. So why didn't they vote for it? https://t.co/9QuKxiqIFQ

If you’d like an even dumber opinion, enjoy Sen. Mazie Hirono trying to explain why not even the co-sponsors of the Green New Deal would vote for it.
