As you certainly know by now, all 16 charges against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett were dropped by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, who considers Smollett’s bond plus 16 hours of community service for Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow PUSH organization a just resolution to the case.
One face which has been popping up a lot today in connection with Smollett is senator and 2020 presidential candidate Kamala Harris, such as the photo that surfaced of Foxx with Harris calling her her mentor.
Harris talked about the Smollett case on CNN Tuesday afternoon, but first, let’s look back at Harris’ reactions to the case. If you’ll remember, she quickly called the alleged hate crime an attempted “modern-day lynching.”
.@JussieSmollett is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know. I’m praying for his quick recovery.
This was an attempted modern day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate.

Asked about the alleged attack a couple of weeks later, she said, “I think the facts are still unfolding. I’m very concerned about it obviously.” She also ignored questions about Jussie Smollett’s arrest after she dined with the Rev. Al “Tawana Told The Truth” Sharpton.
By the third week of February, Harris seemed to have given up the modern-day lynching claim:
Like most of you, I've seen the reports about Jussie Smollett, and I'm sad, frustrated, and disappointed. pic.twitter.com/91OHOymShi

What did the presidential candidate have to say Tuesday after charges were dropped?
Sen. Kamala Harris on prosecutors dropping charges against Jussie Smollett: "I’m completely confused. I don’t understand. I don’t know, I don’t know the underlying evidence. There’s a sealed document, obviously. I don’t know. I’m at a loss." https://t.co/2L5m07DbGQ pic.twitter.com/vPAd3isZYc

Lot of words for someone who knew exactly what happened the day of his claim. https://t.co/Xb8cH7z0H9

Funny how she evolved like that.
@KamalaHarris remember when you knew immediately after the story broke that it was a “modern day lynching”? And now you’re at a loss for words? Pretty interesting.

“Well to be honest…” A lot of eye blinking and hand gesticulations here. Where’s those body experts on this when you need it?
— ScottyB (@scott_beeson) March 27, 2019
body language is atrocious. You need a consultant

Anytime someone starts off a sentence with “to be perfectly honest with you” they usually are not being perfectly honest with you
— TheTruthSeeker (@Seek1Truth) March 27, 2019
Kamala has taken the "I dunno" position through the entire Smollett scandal. Interesting tell…. ?

You gotta hand it to her. She sidestepped the entire subject to cover her ass from every direction.

She's really….really….bad on the spot. Who's she alienating by just calling it what it is? Brian Stelter? He's the only one who doesn't seem convinced the incident was faked. Even Twitter, the cesspool of humanity, universally agrees.

Is that what she is going to say at the presidential debates?

At least Harris redeemed herself Tuesday with that “Present” vote on the Green New Deal she co-sponsored. Presidential material?
