Surprise: Democratic candidates 'dropping like flies' from this year's AIPAC conference

As Twitchy reported Wednesday night, for a freshman, Rep. Ilhan Omar managed an incredible win. Not only did she get away with her dual-loyalty smears and claims that AIPAC (which isn’t a PAC) was buying loyalty to Israel from members of Congress (“It’s all about the Benjamins, baby!”), she ended up literally with the last laugh after voting for a resolution that was supposed to condemn her anti-Semitic remarks but turned into an anti-Islamophobia resolution instead.

We also reported that Kamala Harris was being pressured by Code Pink to drop out of this year’s AIPAC conference, and a vast majority of MoveOn’s membership thought that progressive candidates should skip AIPAC as well.

So on the same day we see President Trump tweet that it’s finally time for the U.S. “to fully recognize Israel’s Sovereignty over the Golan Heights,” we’re seeing Democratic candidates “dropping like flies” from this year’s AIPAC conference.

Waleed Shahid is the communications director for … Justice Democrats, the group that just quietly dropped Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from its board over some creeping legal questions.

VICE News reports that Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Beto O’Rourke, Pete Buttigieg, Jay Inslee, and Julian Castro have all confirmed they won’t attend the pro-Israel conference this year.

You know what’s going to be fun? Our sister site HotAir reports that pro-Israel Democrats in the House are putting together a resolution condemning the global BDS movement.

No doubt whatsoever.
