Liz Mair has a donor box up and running to donate to her legal expenses in Devin Nunes' Twitter lawsuit

As Twitchy reported, Rep. Devin Nunes has filed a $250 million lawsuit against Twitter for defamation and for shadow-banning conservatives.

One bit from the Fox News report we missed is that Nunes’ complaint names specific Twitter users who he alleges have defamed him, including political communications strategist Liz Mair, who last summer suggested he’d knowingly invested in a winery that used underage hookers to lure investors.

Mair has for a while now had a donation box online to fund her work (“If you’d like to stick it to Nunes, go here and donate”), and now she’s hoping people will pitch in for her legal expenses:

Like we said in the previous post, federal law usually exempts a platform like Twitter from defamation lawsuits, so we think this might be an uphill battle for Nunes. However, his legal team is claiming that Twitter “created and developed the content at issue in this case by transforming false accusations of criminal conduct, imputed wrongdoing, dishonesty and lack of integrity into a publicly available commodity used by unscrupulous political operatives and their donor/clients as a weapon.”

True … but there are memes and there are false accusations. Anyway, popcorn all around.
