At this point, we’re convinced that the Washington Post is fully aware of the joke they’ve made of the “Republicans pounce” headline and just do it now to troll conservatives; or there’s the slim chance that it’s just so reflexive they don’t even know they’re doing it.
As Twitchy reported, the conservatives pounce headline of the day Saturday actually went to Business Insider, which noted how right-wing media had pounced on an “accidentally released” draft of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal FAQ.

Way to provide cover for Ocasio-Cortez, guys. Her campaign can’t figure out how to upload the right document to their website but they want to literally rebuild the entire United States and end climate change and guarantee healthy food and employment for everyone.
It looks like Business Insider might have had second thoughts about its headline, though, especially after the Ocasio-Cortez campaign tripped all over each other all day Saturday trying to explain the screw-up and why the FAQ had disappeared from her website. The URL for its story still reads, “right-wing-media-attacking-alexandria-ocasio-cortezs-green-new-deal-2019-2,” but the headline has softened a bit.
1) It was NOT an accident

We agree with Chet Cannon — who “accidentally” typed the words, “unwilling to work” in the FAQ document? A yeah, so what if “conservatives pounced” on the idea that even those unwilling to work should be guaranteed economic stability? They should and did.
The best part: in explaining “what that means,” Business Insider consulted Sean McElwee … the Nation contributor who celebrated the Christmas Eve stock market dive as an early Christmas present because “rich people are losing a s**tload of money today:”
Sean McElwee, a progressive activist and co-founder of Data for Progress, insisted that the Green New Deal resolution remains the most “ambitious set of green policies that have ever been set into legislative text,” adding that “there are a lot of things that are still left to be worked out.”
He added, “Has Matt Yglesias ever introduced a resolution that has 70 co-sponsors?”
Gotta love how the press are so eager to put a positive spin on every idiotic thing AOC says. Talk about election meddling. ?

So finally damage control for the damage control

Accident? Lol.

She slipped, fell hit a bunch of random keys and wrote “or unwilling to work”.
— Theras Vull (@TherasV) February 10, 2019
Ya she accidentally said what she actually believes.
— Aaron Webb (@aronof350) February 10, 2019
What's different about her, is she's been saying what her party actually believes but is too scared to be honest about.
— Ben Jammin ?? (@xBenJamminx) February 10, 2019
Unreal. She accidently released her own document? Mainstream journalism is dead. Another journalist who should #LearnToCone.* (Work at an ice cream shop.)
*Apolgies to the fine folks of the ice cream industry for implying that journalists would be skilled enough to do your job. https://t.co/f2vVSPkTjy
— Dave Rubin (@RubinReport) February 10, 2019
You’re right @RubinReport an ice cream store is the only way they’ll get their scoop. Journalism is dead.

If you think I’m going to keep paying taxes when this happens you got another thing coming

Not accidental. Message testing. That is not leadership.

A calculated self-leak A/B test.
Top notch

Expect much more of this. #learntoscoop
— Todd Forney (@ToddForneyEsq) February 10, 2019
Even if it was accidentally released to the public, how catastrophically stupid would you have to be to ever even bother writing it up?
— Tim Rulez (@TimNorthVan) February 10, 2019
Like @realDonaldTrump, @AOC too often says the quiet part out loud.
— Jadis (Not-A-Russian-Bot) Argiope (@S3LF_MAD3_WOMAN) February 10, 2019
Relax. She just wants to control every aspect our lives.
— FederalFarmer (@TheNthEstate) February 10, 2019
Remember: she doesn't care about facts. She cares about being "morally correct," which means she can lie to serve her larger purposes.

Again, here’s the explanation from the congresswoman herself:
There are multiple doctored GND resolutions and FAQs floating around. There was also a draft version that got uploaded + taken down. There’s also draft versions floating out there.
Point is, the real one is our submitted resolution, H.Res. 109: https://t.co/ZlgWmNQn57
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) February 9, 2019
Remember, she also claimed that her interview where she talked about Israel’s occupation of Palestine was “doctored.”
It'll be another good test to see which journalists go along with this transparent lie. https://t.co/3T8oqCFeAs

Business Insider, for one.
