There should be one and only one news story about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the media today, and that is for her to clear up once and for all this nonsense about there being “multiple” doctored versions of her Green New Deal resolution and FAQ floating around, including the draft that was temporarily posted to her own website. Turns out the general public wasn’t thrilled with the idea of guaranteeing economic security for those unwilling to work as a means of fighting climate change.
But CNN, which is wondering how to shed the label that fake news journalists are the enemy of the people, is going with this angle instead: Ocasio-Cortez is a phenomenon who has turned ordinarily dry congressional hearings into viral, must-see TV.
On the campaign trail, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez turned herself into a phenomenon. So far it's been the same in Congress, where she's using her star power to turn ordinarily dry hearings into viral, must-see TV https://t.co/fNzox0R5w6 pic.twitter.com/9BzU8xH9Yu

Here’s what CNN considers must-see TV:
This week her target — well, one of them — was campaign finance. Seated at a big leather chair, she went on the attack like she was back on the stump, whipping through a fierce argument about Washington’s influence machinery that got retweeted and described as “just sensational” by late-night host James Corden.
By Friday afternoon, she was getting invited to watch the Grammys with Chrissy Teigen, who called her “my hero.”
The episodes capped a week that started with Ocasio-Cortez being photographed striding into the House chamber for the State of the Union, wearing a white cape that appeared to awe a group of starstruck young men.

Wow, retweeted by James Corden and invited to Chrissy Teigen’s Grammys party. So, what about her botched rollout of her ridiculous Green New Deal Thursday that went over like the Hindenburg? “The launch further stoked a suddenly riveting debate over climate change and jobs programs, which landed on the front page of The New York Times,” CNN reports.
A suddenly riveting debate over climate change? Like getting rid of airplanes and rebuilding every building in America and giving away free college and making sure everyone has healthy food and economic stability, even if they’re unwilling to work? Compelling.

And articulate high school senior in a debate class could’ve done a better job. I agreed to defeat her with facts but there sure is a low bar for intellect. Really disconcerting that this has become a phenomenon.
