What a flake: CBS News contributor Jeff Flake 'glad' woman who cornered him will attend SOTU address

Did we ever respect Jeff Flake? We faintly remember liking him a little bit, and then counting the days until he was out of office so he could pursue the inevitable contributor gig on TV (we thought for sure CNN or MSNBC would pick him up, but he landed at CBS News).

Conservatives dislike him for pulling stunts like holding up judicial confirmations; liberals dislike him for talking a good game against President Trump but never following through. But he just doesn’t seem to care, or he’s just that self-unaware.

As far as stunt guests go for Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez invited Ana Maria Archila, the woman who famously cornered Flake in an elevator and read him the riot act over his vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

And Flake? Why, he’s glad the woman who humiliated him on video will be there.

What impact? Kavanaugh was confirmed … with the help of Flake.
