Political dominatrix Mistress Rebecca uses 'words and mind games' to turn white, right-wing men into socialists

Women in the World lifted this story wholesale from the Guardian, which published last Sunday interviews with five women which made up the article, “The pleasure revolution: the sex women really want.”

But it’s Women in the World’s tweet — and its featuring of dominatrix Reba Maybury — that’s getting the attention.

Not only does London-based “Mistress Rebecca” specialize in turning white, right-wing men into socialists — they’re her only clients, because as she told the Guardian, “I can’t force myself to be even fictionally cruel to any other type of man. It makes the performance a lot easier. I could never be mean to someone who wasn’t white, because the world is run by white men, isn’t it?”

So, tell us more about your line of work:

Maybury, aka Mistress Rebecca, is a self-styled political dominatrix. She plays “with concepts of humiliation”, using words and mind games rather than whips and costumes to cut her cohorts down to size. “I’m interested in men’s aspirations, how they feel confident and how vapid that confidence often is,” she says. Maybury also lectures in politics and critical thinking at Central Saint Martins …

“From the outside you’d never know what the dynamic was between us – we just look like two ordinary people having a coffee,” she explains. One client claimed “he was a ‘female supremacist’ and a Tory. I found that such a disgusting contradiction, I couldn’t let him get away with it. Submissives often say that all they want to do is make their mistress happy, and what could make me happier than him becoming a socialist?”

She also shows her art at the Arcadia Missa gallery in Soho, because of course she does.
