As Twitchy reported in June, Jan Jordan, the Broward sheriff’s captain who gave the order to “stage” outside Stoneman Douglas High School rather than enter and confront the gunman, was set to be replaced. According to reports, Coral Springs police officers were the first ones to enter the school to try to help save students while Broward deputies took positions behind their cars.
Then came news in November that Jordan had handed in her resignation to Sheriff Scott Israel, effective immediately.
Andrew Pollack, whose daughter Meadow was killed on Valentine’s Day, is now wondering if Jordan was hired to help fill the county’s mandate for diversity.
Captain Jan Jordan froze during the Parkland shooting. Officers said she was in over her head.
Now Sheriff Israel admits Captain Jordan was recommended based on “diversity” NOT qualifications.
Her lack of leadership led to kids dying, all because they wanted diversity! pic.twitter.com/oEB93ABF8E

i can't imagine both the pain of loosing your beautiful daughter and dealing, daily with the cesspool that enabled it. I am so sorry for you and your family.

So wrong, the more you learn, the more your heart must break. So sorry, that is not a position to be filled by an unqualified individual.

The fact that Scott Israel is still Broward County Sheriff proves how totally corrupt the system is. He should be fired summarily by Governor Scott or DeSantis.

The Leadership mishap occurred at the top…

Hoping our incoming Governor will handle all the corruption in Broward County finally!! Continued prayers for your family.

From what I understand diversity is the reason why academic test scores for police have repeatedly been lowered resulting in low quality officers.

Look at Broward Schools administration, same there.

Diversity for the sake of diversity is never a good idea and will not result in a good outcome. Hire the best regardless of race, gender, or religion. That should always be the goal. do that and you will find organic diversity. Social engineering outcomes is a fool’s errand.

So it’s Parkland’s fault for choosing Capt. Jordan is what I took from what Israel stated. Unbelievable! No accountability! Just passing the buck!!

Maybe I missed something, but it seems to me he needs to look up the etymology of the word entomology. This guy is a BS artist and a faker and a giant scammer and has been from the beginning, and, finally, it cost 17 kids their lives.

The idea that Sheriff Israel is still employed, and not fired, disgusts me.
It is unbelievable.

That is lack of leadership on behalf of Sheriff Israel. Sheriff needs to resign along with Superintendent Runcie.

The incompetence story never ends.

What diversity? There are many women out there fully capable and willing to protect these kids. I’m one of them. ?

Media will totally ignore this story. You won’t see this on @6abc
— Joseph Peacock (@dodgechemicaljp) November 29, 2018
The media’s not even reporting on David Hogg’s every tweet now, so you know they’ve moved on.
