Huh… CBS Evening News lets father of Parkland victim campaign for Democrats in tweet; What about Andrew Pollack?

The mass shooting at a school in Parkland, Fla., took place all the way back in February, so it’s not clear just how much it will affect Tuesday’s election; Democrats seemed to have dropped gun control for the moment and are (wisely) focusing on health care, and it looks like the public is too.

Still, CBS Evening News took the time to profile the father of a Parkland student who was killed that day and who is asking everyone in America to vote “Democrat across the ballot” in the midterms.

Sarah Lynch Baldwin reports:

The father of a 14-year-old girl who was killed earlier this year in a high school shooting is urging people to vote “Democrat across the ballot” and in favor of gun safety in Tuesday’s midterm elections. In one social media post, he made his plea by posting a picture of his daughter’s grave.

“Do not let this become your reality,” Fred Guttenberg tweeted Tuesday. “VOTE like your life depends on it. NO EXCUSES!!!”

We’ll give CBS Evening News some credit; if you make it eight paragraphs in, you’ll find mention of Andrew Pollack, who lost his daughter Meadow that day and blames neither guns nor the NRA.

CBS pulled some information from an appearance Pollack made on “Face the Nation” back in March, but he has some more recent tweets that didn’t make the story.

Don’t think that was civil? Try this tweet on for size:

Hey CBS Evening News, when does Andrew Pollack get his tweet and headline encouraging people to vote Republican?
