Stacey Abrams: 'AR-15s are not necessary on our streets' — unless the Black Panthers are carrying them

As Twitchy reported, Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams got some pushback from CNN’s Jake Tapper on her proposed gun confiscation legislation after painting herself as pro-Second Amendment. “AR-15s are not necessary on our streets,” she told Tapper.

And yet, there were AR-15s on the streets of Atlanta this weekend as members of the Black Panthers strapped on their “assault rifles” and marched in support of Abrams campaign.

Let’s make it clear: we’re against any attempt to ban AR-15s, and we also support open carry. You might remember there was some hubbub about open carry at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, and while a few citizens did sport firearms, the whole thing went off smooth as glass.

But it’s tough to overlook the irony of the Black Panthers campaigning for Abrams while carrying the exact weapons she says have no place on Georgia’s streets.

It didn’t look like much of a march, though:

Still, walking down the sidewalk with a visible gun is scary to some people and must be outlawed; they have a right to feel safe.

If it looks scary to Dianne Feinstein and it’s black, it’s an assault rifle. Wood trim is fine.
