Twitchy mentioned this in passing in an earlier thread on political harassment, but it really deserves its own post. Apparently, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, were having dinner at a restaurant when they were confronted by “a small group of diners” Friday night in Louisville, Ky.

TMZ obtained the footage, which The Hill describes in its piece:
At the beginning of the clip, the diner can be seen yelling at the Republican and arguing with his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.
“Oh yeah, why don’t you get out of here? Why don’t you leave our entire country,” the diner can be seen telling the couple as others at the restaurant shooed the diner and told him to leave the senator alone.
“They’re going to come for Social Security,” the diner continued before appearing to be approached by restaurant staff.
The woman who recorded the incident told TMZ the diner also slammed his fists on the couple’s table and threw out his food.
According to TMZ, McConnell was confronted by four men in total during the incident.
Isn’t this what Rep. Maxine Waters encouraged? Lefties seem to have no problem with harassing politicians who are on the wrong side of the issues; it’s this self-righteous attitude, fueled by apocalyptic reporting from the papers and cable news, that leads to this sort of thing.
These people dedicate their lives to making things worse for the disenfranchised. They deserve to be told that their ideals hurt others, and if they didn't want that, they shouldn't have gone for public office. We don't get to escape them; they damn sure don't get to escape us.

You know what's harassment? When your child has a pre-existing condition and elected officials threaten to pull healthcare, or when you've paid into SS all your life, are depending on it for retirement, politicians deny it to you. Not sorry Mitch can't eat in a restaurant.

It's true, his decisions can adversely affect all Americans lives but it's 'wrong' to do anything that would affect his meal(?) he should be chased into a cave and the entrance should be covered with stones

Who told this criminal it was ok to go out in public?
— Peter Feld (@peterfeld) October 20, 2018
How about a serving of tar with a dollop of feathers @senatemajldr ?

yelling at elected officials in public is protected first amendment speech and it’s pretty disgusting to see *journalists* lecturing our fellow citizens for directly petitioning government officials
— Wesley (@WesleyLowery) October 20, 2018
“You should not yell at elected officials in public” is an anti-free speech stance. Full stop
— Wesley (@WesleyLowery) October 20, 2018
No, not full stop.
Actually disturbing the peace is a crime.

Disorderly conduct?
Who are reporters to tell anyone how they “should” or “should not” exercise their Constitutional rights? I’m stunned everytime folks whose entire livelihoods are drawn from 1A expression so eagerly cast themselves as the protest police

This is the blue wave we have to hold back, understand?
Anyone who supports this should be targeted. Yell at them. Scream at them. When they’re with their kids. When they’re home. Everywhere. All the time. https://t.co/8wsxd0MPoH

Disgusting how many people are ok with this or whole-heartedly endorse it. I don’t care what your politics are, I can’t imagine treating another human being that way. I understand being upset, but there’s a time a place. Act like an adult.

A protestor attempted to chase @senatemajldr and his wife Secretary Chao out of a Louisville restaurant but got shouted down and shooed away by other customers.
People have had enough of this kind of politics. https://t.co/nhwv3U9dsV

People have had enough. Good on the patrons who spoke up. https://t.co/n5vYECzRpy

This isn’t politics. It’s a tantrum. It is vapid, self-regarding, puerile, and counterproductive. Grow the fuck up. https://t.co/lm8nEc1Jjj

Not the right guy to piss off. Cocaine Mitch is just going to get 10 more conservative judges confirmed as punishment. https://t.co/I0SPygIRzT

One would assume this is not how the protestor expected this to go. pic.twitter.com/gsbQUWufRF
