As Twitchy reported Friday, it looks as though the Saudis are finally admitting that journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed in the Saudi consulate in Turkey, with the latest official explanation being that he “died from a chokehold during a physical altercation” with 15 Saudis.
Even that sounds barely plausible, but at least it’s not Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro accusing Jared Kushner of providing Saudi Arabia a “hit list” on which Khashoggi’s name appeared.
We thought that take was hot, but then, as always, 2016 also-ran Even McMullin spoke up:
Claims that Jamal Khashoggi was merely killed in a “fistfight” with 15 Saudi agents who flew to “meet” him and the notion that such a consequential operation would be executed without orders from the highest levels of the Saudi government are not credible.

Agreed.
The Saudis never would have dreamt of committing such a heinous crime against a journalist with an American publication under prior U.S. administrations. Trump’s dehumanizing, violent rhetoric against the press has signaled to despots an open season for such abuses.

Yeah, and here’s where we have to part ways with the #NeverTrump candidate. Is he really saying that President Trump’s “violent rhetoric against the press” in the United States essentially gave the Saudis the green light to kill a journalist in real life — something the Saudis “never would have dreamt of committing” otherwise?
And this guy could have been president?
Any of you who voted for this guy may now choke yourselves. https://t.co/3hjeYlsXTF

That’s utterly ridiculous. Thanks for validating my decision to NOT vote for you.

Lol are you joking???? They have been beheading and crucifying people in the street for years. Amnesty Int’l asked Obama to do something. He didn’t, this is not new. Maybe it was convenient for you to care before. https://t.co/JSrQPpgrnB

Please.. Saudi’s have committed acts like this in their own country they just got caught on foreign soil. Nice try.

I was under the impression that you were an intelligence official… Have you really never seen the Saudis commit atrocities like this before?
— cep “beto” lio (@TheRealCeplio) October 20, 2018
So this is JUST about journalists to you? What about the other beheadings, human rights, activists crucified…. your ex-boss Obama bowed to the Saudi King, and was business as usual. No criticism from you then. Dem hypocrisy and sickening.

You are out of your mind and should never be allowed again near a device that allows you type your thoughts. Go back to school or at least read a history book. Good grief.

And this is why you will never be much in politics except a talking head. You ever heard of 9/11??
