It’s difficult to do when we’re trying to keep track of all the credible allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, but both Slate and BuzzFeed are reminding us that it’s important to look into his high school and college drinking habits as well.
Here’s BuzzFeed’s hot take:
Brett Kavanaugh’s Yale Classmates Remember Him In A “Drinky Crowd” https://t.co/sQ5Vu6IV9k via @mollyhc
— Ben Smith (@BuzzFeedBen) September 25, 2018
A “drinky crowd,” huh? So he very well might have sexually assaulted a woman and was too drunk to remember it?
Maybe that headline should read “classmate” and not “classmates.”
Headline quote comes from a guy who later down in the article is quoted as saying of Kavanaugh “We did not socialize.” https://t.co/uOYdrZguTc
— Philip Klein (@philipaklein) September 25, 2018
Headline also says classmates & yet only quotes one person using the term “drinky.” pic.twitter.com/TxPBREoapH
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) September 25, 2018
Also, Kavanaugh could very much have hung w/ a drinking crowd & may have drank quite a lot himself…all without contradicting himself on never being blacked out. But he's going to pressed to give more specific & candid replies on his drinking habits. https://t.co/y1RNToGlB0

Buried deep in this story the source admits never hanging out with him. No personal knowledge of his behavior.
Cool story bro. https://t.co/0UXQmh4MIC

I don't know Ben Smith, and have never socialized with him, but I suspect that he has both a drinking and a drug problem. But I'm just speculating since it seems that's ok with the media right now. Psst, pass the rumor on please.

OH MY GOD HE DRANK IN COLLEGE!!! HANG THE WITCH!!
— Chris (@concretevol) September 25, 2018
This is the liberal media's newest double standard:
Talking about a woman's history of drinking is unacceptable victim-blaming. But talking about a man's history of drinking provides valuable context underscoring the credibility of the accusations against him. https://t.co/00AT5RXIgC— Noah Pollak (@NoahPollak) September 25, 2018
That’s some pretty hard hitting journalism right there
— Lawrence Higgins (@llhiggs) September 25, 2018
From "he sexually assaulted a girl" to he was in "a drinky crowd." This is what it looks like when your case falls apart. https://t.co/UI2hUahjLT
— Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) September 25, 2018
When your story falls apart, it changes from "rapy" to "drinky."
— Dave Hamilton (@DC_Ham1) September 25, 2018
From rapist to "he drank in college". No wonder @BuzzFeed is garbage.
— Shady M. Smith (@shadymsmith) September 25, 2018
Texas police remember Beto in a “drinky, crashed car”
— Lewis P. (@_Sweet_Lew) September 25, 2018
Isn't it kind of hilarious all the journalists pearl clutching over "drinky crowd" Kavanugh… "Journalists" and alcohol. Fretting over drinking. Journalists! https://t.co/WBb7bnUwqO

But wait, there’s more! Slate also thinks that Kavanaugh’s drinking needs an investigation — which could amount to as little as talking to one classmate who didn’t even socialize with him.
Kavanaugh’s drinking needs investigating: https://t.co/fCDAsvenyH pic.twitter.com/9Ne1cZoFaH

Your mom’s drinking needs investigated.

Yeah, because the party of Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton will have no truck with someone with a history of drinking
— Peter Bradley (@peterbmansfield) September 25, 2018
Where were you during Ted Kennedy's life?
— Bebe le Strange ? (@bebe_strange) September 25, 2018
So did Ted Kennedy’s but no one cared even after he killed a woman.
— John Czerniak (@CzerniakJohn) September 25, 2018
I don't really care about anyone's "drinking" in high school or college in and of itself and I suspect that of the Democrats actually do in this case, they'll probably live to regret that. https://t.co/XumC0KKMMd

I think we need to dig up his dead ancestors and test them for drugs.

You’ve had two weeks to find a bartender to interview.
You got hours now before he’s a Supreme.
Go dig. ? https://t.co/tHGJdiFskJ

He'll be Justice Kavanaugh in a few days.
And slate will still suck. https://t.co/JKoEDl8yQd

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of Kavanaugh running up credit card debt buying baseball tickets or is that still just floating out there?
