You probably don’t remember back in 2015 when social media went crazy over a viral video of a rat trying to drag a full slice of pizza down the subway stairs. Really, “pizza rat” was a thing for a few days:

There’s always been a sort of rivalry between New York and Washington, D.C. over things like who has the worst transit system or who has more rats, but now D.C. can claim its own celebrity rat, who managed to pull a fire alarm and evacuate an entire condo.

That rat saved countless lives … is what we’d be saying if there’d been an actual fire.

In NYC the fire alarm would have been disconnected and fire door would have been propped open by empty cardboard boxes

Did anyone else notice how much junk is blocking that fire exit? Maybe the rat was pointing out the fire hazard? Buildings Dept. might be interested in doing more than a rodent inspection… If I worked there, I would want to see all the fire exits.

Was the rat pulling the alarm? Or was the rat TESTING the alarm? Get the facts straight!

He must have escaped from a lab where pulling the lever gets him a treat.

Finally, they’ve identified the anonymous op ed author.

The rat may think of this simply as a prank, but this is actually a malicious act and he could be in serious legal trouble.

If a rat could pull our fire alarm around 3:30pm this Friday, that would be great.

I can't believe we did not hear about this sooner! LOL.

How much time will pass before this rodent has a Twitter account?
