The New York Times is right about one thing: there was nothing in this week’s confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to convince Republicans to vote against him — Sen. Cory Booker and Sen. Kamala Harris both dropped dud bombshells as they kicked off their 2020 campaigns.
But The Times is pretty generous in claiming that Senate Democrats showed they were willing to “put up a fight.” Have tantrums? Make false accusations? Interrupt? Embarrass themselves? Most certainly.
In the Kavanaugh hearings, Senate Democrats almost certainly did not cut into his solid support among Republicans. But among other things, they were able to show allies they were willing to put up a fight. https://t.co/N5iBs65DMk pic.twitter.com/aC121zVGS1

This has to be the opinion of an anonymous NYT editor.

'Put up a fight' = coordinated delay tactics, abusing the document process, openly lying and performing a staged crisis, and being generally obnoxious and unprofessional. https://t.co/hTkiAxxHwq

what they did was make total fools of themselves.

They are great theater. Especially Booker. The tantrum king. ???

All show and no substance … you had a chance to make your case but you chose theatrics instead #Spartacus …

Dem kabuki theatre ?

..a fight? Is that what it was?…looked more like desperation to me!…including a 'screaming freak sideshow'!
— Pat Rasmussen (@Goppat) September 8, 2018
Tantamount to professional wrestling…fake fight aimed at titillating the unwashed and uneducated masses. Congrats on your race to the bottom.

A lame, embarrassing, unfair, disruptive, dishonest, and silly fight, against a fine man and distinguished public servant and judge. But, yeah, a fight.
— Timothy F. Sweeney (@timothyfsweeney) September 8, 2018
It was more of a charade then a fight. Kavanaugh must have been wondering how some of the Dems ever graduated high school.
— Mindwalker (@Pokerhontas48) September 8, 2018
They didn't put up a fight, they threw a tantrum.
— Layla Dee (@DesertWish45) September 8, 2018
It was a circus.. and the democrats were the clowns.. I’m a democrat and I’m embarrassed for them..

He was a disgrace! He was just grandstanding. Disrespectful to the Senate and the rules. Very disappointed in the fiasco they presented.

Did NYT report that said documents were already released and that this was pure grandstanding? #FakeNewsMedia
— Di Moore (@SnoopaDo) September 8, 2018
Among other things, it showed how the Democrats use child like logic, meltdowns and innuendos as scare tactics.
— A New Year (@Magacheers) September 8, 2018
All they really did was completely embarrass themselves

They did not put up a fight as much as they tried to look like they put up a fight. Not to the benefit of anyone, but to display sufficient a degree of incompetence & derangement that the left can identify with, & vote accordingly. Irony is the left would feed them all to sharks.

Booker and Harris are some of the enemies within. When Kamala Harris called the Constitution "That book you carry in your pocket," referencing the copy of the Constitution that Kavanaugh carries and uses in his decisions, it told us what she thinks of the law.#Kavanaugh
— Andrea Klotz (@AndreaKlotz1) September 8, 2018
This was a chance for people like Harris and Booker to try and grandstand ahead of 2020 and now everyone will vote the way they always intended to vote before this hearing ever started.
— 3 Paw Pundit (@3pawpundit) September 8, 2018
So, a fruitless "light brigade"-like attack lead by a fake Spartacus and Kamala are a success? C'mon, you used to spin things better than this.
— ???? ???? ????????? ?. (@jjmiphoto) September 8, 2018
Your paper has become a joke. No one believes a word from you. You have become an arm of the Democratic Party and not the free press. President Trump is right when he said you are an enemy of the people. You have become part of Obama's resistance, trying to overthrow a President.
