We’ll admit we’ve done posts on this subject before, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen Bill Nye the not-really-a-scientist guy post a photo of his TV screen showing the current weather and claiming it’s evidence of climate change.
Record heat again. Its’ climate change people. Let’s get to work reducing emissions and providing renewable electricity to all of Earth’s citizens. If you want to know more about our situation, follow @MichaelEMann pic.twitter.com/fwVw0MhpA2

Wow, it’s hot … in late August. No wonder this guy was practically Barack Obama’s science advisor. As far as we know Nye has never published any original research on climatology (or anything else for that matter), but he’s really good at taking pictures of the weather forecast on TV.
Just to be sure, he suggests you follow a “real” scientist: Michael E. Mann of the controversial “hockey stick” graph.
Actually, it’s called “weather.”

The new science is tweeting out photos of your television and saying "QED."
P.S. Michael E. Mann files defamation lawsuits against people that criticize his work, because science! https://t.co/lESbOWYniJ

It's not OK for other non-scientists to proclaim truth based on single points of data, but it is OK for this non-scientist to proclaim truth based on single points of data. https://t.co/gPY5VekHwQ

Using anecdotal evidence to gaslight America. "It is really hot this one day so climate change must be real" is such an asinine argument I'm honestly surprised people still try to make it. https://t.co/ALBRoZHXvS

Here's the current temperature map at 2:30 PM … its toasty and humid along the East Coast (climate change according to @billnye)
But check out the 50s in Michigan and 70s behind a nice late-August front into the Rockies and Plains.
Remember it just snowed in WY & MT! pic.twitter.com/PfZ1MKLXMk

Joe Bastardi called it in one:
Big week for climate ambulance chasers coming up so let me tell everyone what is going to be pushed 1) heat ( ignore countering cold) 2 possible gulf storm 3) possible Hawaii threat FOUR this is the big one, Super typhoon threat to Japan. So later next week, will review

"The world is on fire". Except that it is not. The last week was probably the coldest on earth since 2014. This is the data from the Climate Forecast System Reanalysis. Data is gathered 4 times daily to run forecast models. The global 2M Temp ave make a nice timeseries. pic.twitter.com/UO7duCjs6U
