They’re all Jim Acosta now, it seems.
CNN’s Brian Stelter reports Saturday that more than 100 newspapers will publish editorials decrying President Trump’s anti-press rhetoric this coming Thursday:
The Boston Globe has been contacting newspaper editorial boards and proposing a “coordinated response” to President Trump’s escalating “enemy of the people” rhetoric.
“We propose to publish an editorial on August 16 on the dangers of the administration’s assault on the press and ask others to commit to publishing their own editorials on the same date,” The Globe said in its pitch to fellow papers.
Wow … we haven’t seen so many reporters coordinate like this since Ezra Klein’s lefty JournoList was dragged into the sunlight.
You know — we’re actually fine with that; after all, something’s going to go on that editorial page that day. To be honest, though, we’d be happier to flip through the pages and see follow-up reports on that school-shooting training compound led by a New York imam’s son in New Mexico, or on that final report on all the failures that allowed the Parkland mass shooting to happen, none of which was the fault of the NRA.
You know that whole notion that the press hasn't declared a reciprocal war on Trump and his supporters? Yeah, stuff like this makes that claim look like pure, 100% #FakeNews https://t.co/mn6UxRxCvn

We actually agree that Trump could tone it down a bit, but we can’t shake the feeling that so many papers are happy to get on board because they see themselves as the opposition party rather than unbiased news outlets.

Can't make this stuff up — MSM takes a coordinated stand against the President who complains that the MSM is always coordinating against him. https://t.co/I1OZMV0CRu

A coordinated media effort against Trump? Way to make his point.

@realDonaldTrump goes after MSM, and people dislike MSM, specifically because of the fact that they all work together to push one, very left leaning, narrative. This campaign ironically reinforces those feelings. I dont think this will have its intended effect. #inauthenticnews https://t.co/IdF0nGC9Sp

These 100 papers officially work hand and hand with the DNC to produce anti republican propaganda. https://t.co/4Zca6GaCki

100 newpapers need to come together and apologize to the American people for brainwashing them into believing Trump colluded with Russia.

And on Friday, they'll write about Omarosa, 45's latest tweets, the 5,000th story on understanding the forgotten 45 voters, and while they're at it, put another call to throw out the Constitution on their opinion page.

And a scant handful of people will see them since who, in 2018, actually reads a newspaper for news beyond the local?
Free advice: Put the editorials in the coupon section. Maybe some housewives will notice. https://t.co/3yf08IIrzW
