The Planned Parenthood Action Fund over the weekend tweeted that Mississippi has only one abortion provider, and then offered a chart to show just how easy it is to get an abortion in a progressive state like California.
Mississippi has only one remaining abortion provider. ???. https://t.co/Az15AdAqbT

Nice comparison chart — apparently in California you don’t even have the inconvenience of traveling to the clinic … which is probably true, considering how many abortion providers have set up shop there. And the horror of being given the option to view an ultrasound before making your decision! It’s literally “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
Not so curiously, not everyone sees the problem.
I fail to see the problem. https://t.co/MJQixaYumu

Mississippi still has an abortion provider.
— M (@boredofoutrage) July 21, 2018
It's one too many.

That’s a massive problem… how do we get that down to zero?
— HispanoChucky (@HispanoChucky) July 21, 2018
Wow, great news, thanks for sharing, can't wait till its zero. Godspeed!

Well done Mississippi

And this is a problem because?
— Calvinist Fish (@CalvinistFish) July 21, 2018
Because it makes child murder a little less convenient. People might have to consider not having sex just to eliminate the chance of conception.

How is having the option to view an ultrasound a restriction on getting an abortion?
— RightWingNutJob (@RightWingCraCra) July 22, 2018
“Option to view ultrasound” is terrible because ???? Since it’s just a clump of leaching cells, why not just openly show the ultrasound to everyone? ???
— Ginna Cross (@GinnaCross) July 22, 2018
I love how "get parental consent" is a "major restriction".
Also how a 24 hour waiting period is a "major restriction".
Also how the *option* to view the ultrasound is a "major restriction".

Mmm… Seems California needs a fix.

Praise God for Missippippi.

And unsurprisingly, it's got one of the lowest abortion rates in the nation. You frame this as an access issue, but really, you're just pissed you're losing business.

You say that as if abortion has been outlawed. Could it be that there is not a demand for abortions in Mississippi? You people need to change your name from Planned Parenthood to Planned Abortion.

"Safe, legal, and rare." Should be enough for THAT.

It’s a pity that struggling Planned Parenthood just can’t afford to build any new clinics.
