Brian Ross, whom old-school Twitchy readers will remember from falsely identifying the Aurora, Colo. movie theater shooter as a member of the Tea Party (same name, different guy), is reportedly leaving ABC News — finally — after being suspended for making a “serious error” in his reporting on Michael Flynn.

If you’ll remember, that serious error was accusing presidential candidate Donald Trump of ordering Michael Flynn to make contact the Russians; actually, he was President-elect Trump at the time, which is kind of an important difference.
The New York Post’s Page Six reports:
We hear that Ross on Monday announced he’s leaving the network. His longtime executive producer Rhonda Schwartz is also exiting. “The time has come to say good-bye,” said the duo in a letter to staff with an announcement by ABC News president James Goldston.
…
… They added: “While we are signing off from ABC News, we are hardly leaving investigative journalism. There is much more to do.”
Imagine what Ross can report now that he’s not with a mainstream news organization with a reputation it would like to maintain.

Again? Brian Ross single-handedly, and perfectly, made Trump’s argument that the media is fake news. Way to go, Brian.

Leaving? No one just gets fired for being bad at their job anymore? Media and government I guess.

Nope. He was suspended without pay for four weeks and then told by his network he wouldn’t be covering President Trump anymore. Oops.
