As Twitchy reported earlier, Fresno State creative writing professor Randa Jarrar, who cheered the death of “racist” Barbara Bush, won’t face any consequences from the school, not even for passing off Arizona State’s mental health crisis hotline number as her own and inviting those she’d angered to call.
This isn’t a surprise, and as we reported, many conservatives argued against her being disciplined for employing her right to free expression, no matter how vile.
Vox, however, is still trying to make Jarrar’s case about race — which is the very card Jarrar herself played when she began being called out on her disgusting tweet about Bush:
If you’d like to know what it’s like to be an arab american muslim american woman with some clout online expressing an opinion, look at the racists going crazy in my mentions right now.
Got it? The people who called her out for calling Bush a genocidal piece of sh*t and tweeting, “I’m happy the witch is dead” were the racists for daring to challenge “an arab american muslim american woman with some clout online.”
But Vox, you be you.
Fresno State announced that it would not, in fact, be disciplining Jarrar.
But her case is a reminder that that when a woman of color speaks out on her views about race, she faces unique dangers. https://t.co/dOA5FYk5Rp

Unique dangers!
Rubbing our faces in it after defending this woman is not a good look, Vox. https://t.co/8GnRFTCIbu

Vox is lying again. I'm shocked https://t.co/1GPMOMLkux

Not true. She's not unique. She spoke her mind, ppl disagreed and let her know. Nothing unusual here so move on. Don't make this into something it's not https://t.co/wdrAKsHWdK

Definitely has nothing to do with the content of her character. Nothing. https://t.co/hSmkoJIy8u

So her facing zero consequences and having her job defended by countless political opponents (including me) was an example of unique dangers?
Hmmm… https://t.co/p1FB6Vgbgs

I think you might just wanna let this one lie, Vox. https://t.co/JFmIzs8kGu

Uhhhhhh, sorry but this has absolutely NOTHING to do with her RACE! https://t.co/5L3VNNUpyR

LOL. She never spoke on her views about race in this instance yet you keep peddling this lie. But then Vox gonna Vox. https://t.co/WDN1X860jW

Her "race" has nothing to do with her vileness. That's on her. https://t.co/X3YWuyjK5b

Can a “POC” tell me how celebrating Barbara Bush’s death and tying up suicide hotline phones has to do with issues on race? https://t.co/7mqp5h97ND
— Nate (@NateGafolicious) April 25, 2018
JFC Vox. The woman didn't "speak out on her views on race," she disgustingly mocked a beloved figure upon her death. Don't whitewash her vile statements and make her the victim now. https://t.co/K4kyjZT6FE

Openly professes her hatred of people not of her ideology, promoted the idea of hijacking planes, suggested someone's house have grenades thrown in it, is sexist, racist, and bigoted…
But yeah, people are mad because we're all racist and sexist. Vox is a joke. https://t.co/Msl6ah7QEr

Bullshit.
Victim culture is the worst culture. Completely destroys the opportunity for substantive discussion because the whole conversation is reduced to blaming someone else for one’s own dumbassery. https://t.co/JgEQH9cK0N

Fresno State announced that it would not, in fact, be disciplining Jarrar.
But her case is a reminder that that when a woman of color speaks out on her views about race, she is protected solely because of her gender and race.
Fixed it for you. https://t.co/IABaSwpVrh
