On Friday, Variety held its “Power of Women” luncheon to honor Alicia Keys, Tina Fey, Emily Blunt, Tarana Burke, and Margaret Atwood, who recently said she believed the 9/11 hijackers got the idea from “Star Wars.”
Taking on hosting duties was comedian and “Full Frontal” host Samantha Bee, who joked that the event to honor women was “Mike Pence’s personal hell.” Sitting through any Samantha Bee skit is our own personal hell, but back to Pence.

Variety reports that “Bee noted that if Pence was here today he’d probably be walking around asking everyone “Are you my mother?”
Seems fairly obvious that the fact Mike Pence is the Vice President is Samantha Bee's personal hell. Gimme a second to see if I can find the world's smallest violin… https://t.co/NGOjKA8wmJ

The @VP has a female Deputy COS, Director of Advance, Director of Operations, Deputy Counsel, Dep Nat Sec Adviser, Press Secretary, Deputy Comms Director & the list goes on. He's elevated women to sr positions across the board. But congrats on the RTs! https://t.co/eyh5GUK4VT

The thing about Pence is that he's not Trump. I can pretty confidently say he could not care less about stuff like this, if he's even aware of it at all. https://t.co/fp2KDGWfbh
