David Clarke put in Twitter time-out after pretend-kicking CNN's logo

As Twitchy reported, lefties like film producer Judd Apatow and author Patrick S. Tomlinson reported former sheriff David Clarke, Jr. to Twitter last week for terms of service violations after Clarke posted a photoshopped image of himself kicking CNN’s logo in a wrestling ring.

CNN reports that the now-deleted tweet “featured a graphic of Trump’s face superimposed on that of a wrestler holding another wrestler labeled ‘CNN,’ while Clarke’s face was superimposed on a wrestler who is kicking ‘CNN’ in the face.”

Tomlinson and Apatow both called the tweet a threat of physical violence against members of the media, and Twitter seems to have agreed, putting Clarke in Twitter time-out until he deleted three tweets found to violate Twitter’s terms of service, which state that users “may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people.”

Could Clarke tone down the rhetoric just a tad? Probably. But we at Twitchy have covered plenty of death threats against specific individuals — not just, in Clarke’s words, the “LYING LIB MEDIA” — and there really does seem to be a total lack of consistency on Twitter’s part.

And it looks like Twitter’s going to have to ban Clarke outright if this is the way it’s going to be:

Unlike the meme with the CNN logo, that one wasn’t deleted, but we imagine plenty of liberals reported it as well. Let’s just see if Twitter is serious about cracking down on every wish for harm against a group of people.
