Subway enthusiast Hillary Clinton accuses Vladimir Putin of being a notorious manspreader

A long, long list of those blamed for her election loss had already been leaked, but with today’s release of Hillary Clinton’s memoir “What Happened,” people on social media had the opportunity to pick out and share their favorite and/or most insane, unhinged-sounding bits of the complete book.

Lois Beckett of The Guardian, for example, liked this passage about Vladimir Putin, whom Clinton recalled as “like one of those guys on the subway who imperiously spread their legs wide, encroaching on everyone else’s space …. They call it ‘manspreading.'”

Clinton goes on a bit about Putin’s “over-the-top macho theatrics,” but back up a minute. Did she just explain to her readers what “manspreading” is? We’d read that the Metropolitan Transit Authority had spent $76,000 on a public relations campaign asking men to “stop the spread,” but this is also the presidential candidate who wrestled awkwardly with the subway turnstile in the Bronx in 2016 during a campaign stop.

What do you do when Vladimir Putin is manspreading in your presence? Do you stay calm, keep smiling and carry on as if he weren’t repeatedly invading your space? Or do you turn, look him in the eye and say loudly and clearly, “Back up, you creep. Get away from me. I know you love to intimidate women but you can’t intimidate me. So back up.”

Wait … that’s from another chapter, about another man she considered a creep for invading her space.

Here’s a hint:
