FBI treating pipe bomb explosion at Air Force recruiting office in Oklahoma as a criminal act for now; Updated

During a press conference Tuesday, the FBI referred to the apparent bombing of an Air Force recruiting center in Bixby, Okla., Monday night as a criminal act and not domestic terrorism, pending the identification of a suspect and a motive in the case.

Special Agent Jessi Rice said an investigation suggests someone used a pipe bomb outside the office, which they believe was targeted. However, she also noted that the blast took place after the office had closed, indicating that whoever was responsible likely “didn’t want to kill anyone.”

A restaurant in the shopping plaza housing the Air Force facility was reported to have surveillance video of the incident, which the FBI is expected to review Tuesday.

Update:

The FBI has confirmed that it has a suspect in custody, and some digging on social media seems to suggest the suspect was more intent on causing property damage than harming anyone.
