Fortunately, no one was hurt but the attacker, who rammed a car loaded with explosives and firearms into a police van in the Champs-Elysees shopping district. Investigators said the driver was a 31-year-old man from a Paris suburb who had been “flagged for extremism.” What kind of extremism remains a mystery.
