Unlike last year, celebrities were hard to find, and a few journalists in attendance even confessed on social media that dinner was lousy and the vibe depressing. At least there was comedian Hasan Minhaj’s set to cap off the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday night.
Reviews were mixed, and attendees not only had to wait until the end of the night for Minhaj to perform; once he did get his show on the road, there was another wait for the jokes, according to Fox Business Network host Kennedy.
Waiting for @hasanminhaj to be funny

Don’t forget the narrative, though; last year was a going-away party for President Obama, and everyone in the media — even the reporters he declared enemies of the state and spied on — loved the guy. But this year was all about the First Amendment, scholarships, hard-hitting journalism, and self-congratulations.

That you all need reminding speaks volumes. Self-aggrandizing shills.
