It’s April 1, so everyone’s on the lookout for April Fools’ Day jokes online, but Rep. Jackie Speier still managed to sting a few followers with her tweet about introducing a bill to keep President Trump off of Twitter without supervision.
I will be introducing a bill next week which will prohibit @POTUS from posting unsupervised tweets. https://t.co/vNpeVFBj3J

Wish I could introduce such a bill. #aprilfools #aprilfoolsday https://t.co/e8aEjkfqTb

She made it clear after only a couple a minutes that she was joking, but that didn’t stop people from wishing she was serious. Who’d benefit, anyway, if someone were given the authority to keep President Trump from pushing that Tweet button?
aww, damn. I fell for it. You can't intro a bill like that? I've seen some pretty BS bills in Congress…

Rats (can you still DO – it?)

I think it would probably be the only one to get bipartisan support! (Thank you, Rep Speier, for your House Intel Cmte work!)

Do it! Stop Tweeting Unless Permission Isn't Denied is the perfect name for it IMO.

Why? Let him hang himself. But seriously, good tweeting. That's how you do it. 😉

You are mean!!!

Now both Jackie Speier and George Takei are in the doghouse for making April Fools’ Day promises they’re not going to keep.
