It pays to be careful about how you word things on Twitter, particularly when you’re a progressive advocate trying to drag the country in a direction it doesn’t necessarily want to go; take, for example, the gun control group that inadvertently warned of a homicidal toddler who’d been on a two-year shooting rampage.
On Thursday, Nina Ford of Promundo — “engaging men and boys to promote gender equality and end violence against women internationally” — tweeted about the #ManBox, intersectionality, toxic masculinities, and the concern that 60 percent of young men in the U.S. agree that they should act strong despite how they feel inside.
Crucial to understand how intersectionality affects the #ManBox. Tune into livestream: https://t.co/R6KQgvSGXs

60% of young men in US agree guys should act strong even if they feel scared/nervous inside. How can we change that? #ManBox #USIPGender

You are so right! That number needs to change. With any luck we can get it up to 100%!

Well, we could bring real physical education back to the schools. The 40 are probably lacking testosterone. That would help.

I suggest a program involving team building, tech skills, endurance & strength testing & firearms training. That should bring that # up.

I have a better question: why would you suggest coddling them, instead of pushing themselves to be better?

Oh, back off. Men are not the only sex that acts strong when scared inside.
