TICK TOCK! Doomsday Clock Set to 89 Seconds to Midnight

Great Gonzaga! Spokane school goes in search of some intellectual muscle, gets Melissa Click instead

Dr. Melissa Click, who brought the University of Missouri all the wrong sorts of publicity when she was caught on video in search of some “muscle” to physically remove a student reporter from a campus protest’s “no media safe zone,” has landed a one-year, non-tenure track gig as a lecturer at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.

“We are confident she has learned much from her experiences at the University of Missouri,” said Elisabeth Mermann-Jozwiak, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. The school clearly is confident enough to hire her on as a lecturer for one year, and maybe another if she can go two semesters without threatening any students with borrowed goons.

KREM talked to students on campus about the school’s new hire, and it looks like Click might learn a lesson or two from her experiences at Gonzaga as well. One senior asked, “Why would we hire someone in communication department who, in my mind at that point, didn’t enjoy freedom of the press as much as I do?”
