For the second night in a row, Donald Trump has managed to out-do Vice President Joe Biden in the gaffe department. After listing a Ted Cruz for President co-chair among his endorsements last night, Trump name-checked legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno — who died in 2012 — in Pittsburgh, home of the Pitt Panthers.
Twitter is having fun with Trump's promise to bring Joe Paterno back. #resurrection

We’re not yet convinced Trump can make Mexico pay for his border wall, and now he’s suggesting he can bring back the late Joe Paterno.
Donald Trump asked a crowd of supporters in Pittsburgh about Joe Paterno and it left many scratching their heads. https://t.co/sR5yuV3V6a

Was Trump talking about Paterno, or his statue?
@AndyJ0seph Please tell me your not that simple minded. He was talking about statue. Trump has been Pro Paterno for a long time.
— Kirk Collingwood (@capkbc) April 14, 2016
Trump obviously meant when are we going to bring back the Paterno statue and then, subsequently, Paterno back from beyond, through sorcery.

Once again, Trump’s spokeswoman was left with the job of “clarifying” his remarks.

Trump spokeswoman tells reporters he was referring to the Paterno statue when he asked, "How's Joe Paterno? Are we gonna bring that back?"

Are we? It was removed for a reason.

@JGreenDC He's talking about the Paterno statue that was removed after he was caught covering up child rapes

Donald Trump has every bad opinion imaginable, up to and including "they should put the Joe Paterno statue back up"
