When the camera turned to Adele for her performance at the Grammy Awards, the auditorium went quiet in anticipation. The renowned vocalist had the audience in the palm of her hand, but a mic over the piano apparently didn’t have quite the grip. At least that’s the theory of producer and performer Brian Transeau, who goes professionally by BT.
Talk about a professional. Way to go @Adele holding it down when a piano mic falls in the piano @TheGRAMMYs
— BT (@BT) February 16, 2016
Adele gave the piano a quick side-eye, and then her own vocal microphone very briefly went silent. While singing live. At the Grammy Awards.
Adele's mixer is apparently too busy sobbing and eating ice cream to do his job.

#Adele beatiful. Pianist great. But sounds like somewhere in background is a monkey on a tambourine. Ruining it. #GRAMMYs
— Jon Sopel (@BBCJonSopel) February 16, 2016
How about her voice? Singers rely on in-ear monitors to hear themselves and the rest of the instruments. Was tonight just a tough night, or thanks to our mixer friend, could Adele not hear herself or the piano?
Adele's pitch is consistently & historically flawless. FLAWLESS. That was 100% an audio issue & she was fighting hard from go. Hush, ya'll.
— Nichole Nordeman (@nicholenordeman) February 16, 2016
You guys.@Adele just SANG that song w/ whatever that was happening in the background & the pressure of being on the #GRAMMYs.
